Amanah: responsibility as a trust.
Every role he has held, from founder to chairman, is treated as something entrusted, to be protected as well as progressed.
Entrepreneur · Founder, Hajj People · London — Makkah
I am Mohsin Tutla, an entrepreneur, leadership thinker and international collaborator. For more than two decades I have worked across the pilgrimage world, building businesses and bringing institutions together, driven by a belief in people, possibilities and purposeful progress.
My Story

Behind the titles is a journey of curiosity, enterprise, relationships and the belief that progress is measured by what becomes possible for others.
Mohsin Tutla is a British entrepreneur whose work spans international pilgrimage services, institutional collaboration, executive development and public dialogue. He founded Hajj People in London in February 2009. It has grown into a Saudi-British group headquartered in Makkah that has worked in more than 21 countries, across aviation, pilgrim welfare and government policy.
His work has always reached past the commercial. In 2011 he conceived the British Hajj & Umrah Council for UK pilgrims. He went on to chair the World Hajj & Umrah Convention, which brought the sector together at the British Museum, London Olympia, Jakarta and Jeddah.
During the pandemic, the World Hajj & Umrah Care Foundation he chairs published Hajj Under Pandemic Conditions and developed a Safe Corridor for pilgrims. In 2026 he took the stage at WTM Spotlight Riyadh to talk about the next chapter of Umrah.
Studying mathematics, statistics and management taught him to respect evidence. International business taught him that the human side matters as much. Decisions may be made in meeting rooms, but people feel their consequences.
Values
Before the boardrooms and the conventions, there is the prayer. The principles he brings to his work are learned here first.
Every role he has held, from founder to chairman, is treated as something entrusted, to be protected as well as progressed.
Leadership is not merely the authority to decide. It is the duty to understand who will feel the consequences.
Excellence in how things are done, not only in what is achieved. Never settling for average, and staying a benchmark others can follow.
Keep intentions positive, good, honest and truthful, and be relentless in finding solutions that benefit the Hajj and Umrah journey.
Makkah · Home of Hajj People
Hajj People is headquartered in Makkah, the city every pilgrim travels toward. From the Clock Tower, the reason for all of it is in plain sight.

My World
Five institutions carry most of the work, each grown from one conviction: pilgrim welfare cannot be delivered by one organisation alone.
Founded in London on 2 February 2009 as an events and consultancy firm, now headquartered in Makkah and active in more than 21 countries. Its work runs from aviation to pilgrim welfare, and from pilgrims to government policy.
Leadership beyond borders
On the road
Embassies, conference halls and hotel lobbies. Most of this work is done in person, one conversation at a time.

World Hajj & Umrah Care Foundation
What began as a gathering of professionals to share best practice became a foundation for pilgrim welfare: health, safety, hygiene, education and social well-being.
The Foundation's principles were set on the evening of 12 February 2012, at the inaugural World Hajj & Umrah Convention at the British Museum, under the patronage of the late Lord Adam Patel of Blackburn, former head of the British Hajj Delegation. For almost ten years it was funded by a single company, Hajj People, as part of its Responsibility Division.
The manifesto
In 2018 Hajj People also helped develop the Hajj & Umrah Standards Organisation (HUSO) and CPD-approved training with partners across the sector.
The WHUC Foundation is a non-governmental organisation, independent of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, whose sovereignty over the affairs of the pilgrimage it recognises.

My Thinking · Polymorphic Leadership®
“Stand at the foot of it and jump off and build your wings on the way down.”
— Mohsin Tutla
Polymorphic Leadership® is about adapting how you lead as circumstances change, while holding to the same principles. Its concern is judgement rather than charisma, and judgement starts with paying attention.
A question worth asking
How do we make better decisions when opportunities, threats and responsibilities compete for our attention?
Opportunity and threat
Every opportunity introduces new possibilities. Every threat introduces potential consequences. Leaders must understand both.
Leadership programmes
Polymorphic Leadership® programmes bring together professional experience, peer exchange and structured reflection, for executives, regulators, institutional representatives and professionals whose decisions affect people and organisations.

Beyond business
Some of the most valuable lessons come from family, friendships and everyday moments. This is a space for the people and experiences that shaped him.

“I am astounded how well organised and how advanced [the] process of Umrah has become.”
His mother, after Umrah in Ramadan 2018, as he recalled in his WHUC Awards chairman's message. Her words remain a measure of the work.
Remain a student
“Experience should deepen curiosity rather than produce certainty.”
From his essay What International Experience Has Taught Me. Pictured at the astronomy museum in the Makkah Clock Tower.
